Task 5: 5 Key Trends predicted for 2014

5 key trends predicted for 2014
 
  1. Social Medias that are short-lived or momentary are going to become more popular in 2014. these are networks such as Snapchat.
  2.  Social Media is a major part of everyone's lives. it is predicted that schools will embrace it and see social media as an asset rather than a liability. Teachers will teach Social Media in their classrooms.
  3.  Social Media will be used more for advertising. Research has proved that it is more effective.
  4. Watching and sharing videos online will become more popular and used than television. 7 second videos called Vines have become very popular among social networking. 
  5.  Employers will embrace Social Media and use it in their companies. The employer can use it to look for potential employees and to empower their employees.

Task 2:Differences and similarities between a wiki an a blog

Differences
1. A blog is an online journal where the author can update whenever they choose. It is usually daily, weekly or monthly. A wiki can be updated anytime.
2. A blog has one author who is responsible for publishing their own posts. A wiki can be edited or updated by anyone around the world.
3. Blogs are for news or information that is happening now or that is recent. A wiki has a better use for more definite information. It is more long term. It displays academic information.

Similarities
1. You can add widgets to both blogs and wikis.
2. Both blogs and wikis can be set up using free software.
3. Both Blogs and wikis are easily accessible to people all over the world.

Task 1:My Profile

Hello. My name is Kayley Hampshire and  I am currently studying a BA psychology at Varsity College in Cape Town. There is nothing more important then helping others and contributing to the greater good. I am passionate about music, the more rock 'n roll the better. Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jim Morrison and the list goes on. 
My favourite colours are red, pink and turquoise. My daily inspiration is Christopher Johnson McCandless also know a Alexander Supertramp.
